5. i remember madness, arriving to a J bay full of bright skinned tourists. absolute horrible madness. toomany people, nowhere to hide; i found my way to the ocean, and one or two kindred spirits on the way. i remember i missed The Pretty Blue Guns (a side effect of staring long and hard at seashells in the sunshine. can you say that seven times fast?) which makes me sad. i remember i was too tired to take photos, but i did anyway. i remember Die Helde, Tidal Waves and i was chuffed that foto were handling the run-up to the countdown, because they're impeccable.

6. we all started a merry stage-hopping at that stage of things. it felt like family, when we hugged and kissed, and it rained sparkling wine and i even waved lumosticks to SLK! best surprise? Mr Kill City Blues himself, standing on the skirts, smiling, suddenly imported from slaapstad.

7. Can someone explain to me why it took two weeks of extreme 'toering to get everyone to dance together? we should have done that from the start! we've been doing everything else together, after all.

8. Capt. STu were the right band to finish off with - party band supreme. we blurred onto the bus, smeared our souls across the sandy windscreen, and screamed out of there into the new year. oh. and i heard later that gammie turned back for me? now that's love. i learnt one thing. there's no name for the positions people get into on the way home. no name at all.
